We are able to do research for ancestors who lived in the City of Hamilton & former Wentworth County.
Submitting A Research Request
- General Request – related to source evidence such as funeral home records, city directories, cemetery transcriptions, or other records in our collection.
- Cemetery Photographs – if located in the cemetery transcriptions/surname index, please reference this information in your request.
- Newspaper Announcements and Articles – obituaries, funeral accounts, death notices, birth, marriage and anniversary announcements. Also articles related to accidents, trials, inquests etc. can be requested.
- Customized Searches – Research conducted in local archives and libraries outside of the Hamilton Branch OGS office.
Please allow sufficient time for our volunteers to do a thorough search. There may be a lengthy turn around time for some research since all research is subject to the availability of volunteer help. Please provide as much information as possible to aid our volunteers in your search. Remember that an unsuccessful search requires the same amount of time as a successful one, therefore no refunds will be issued.
Once a research request has been submitted, a member of our volunteer research team will be in contact with you to advise of the cost ($) for the services requested below.
